Just Keep Swimming

The sky was gray - but dry - today when we left for Vandy baseball camp ... but as soon as we got out of the car and walked 50 feet, the sky fell! Rain, wind, thunder, lightening, cold gusts ... you get the picture! We huddled under a nearby tree ... I know, not smart when there is lightening ... but the rain hit so fast and heavy, that we were all sure it would "pass over" quickly. Well, after several minutes, we figured out that it wasn't going to "pass over" so we all jumped into one car and headed for drop-off at the gate.

There were three moms (that's my friend, Amy holding Zoe) and nine kids and we were all drenched by the time we got to the front gate of the baseball stadium ... but we got the kids there and they had fun on their first day of camp. Vanderbilt pitcher, David Price, will be playing for Tampa Bay next year - the top pick of this year's draft. He was at camp ... hopefully, he'll be there all week because it was fun for the kids to see him.

Note in these pictures that the boys don't look so wet ... but us moms and the little kids all looked soaked. I guess baseball uniforms handle the rain really well. Even "I never need a bath" Jackson was ready to take one because his legs were so muddy. Hank showed me his shriveled fingers. :)
