Graduation Night

The graduation ceremony ... several hours of speeches ... pretty boring, right?

I got lucky and Zoe dozed through much of the ceremony so I got to listen to the speeches (and there were many). They were all short, to the point, and interesting.

Medical school is such a big accomplishment ... it is interesting to watch everyone (our family and all the other families, too) celebrate their own achievement or that of a friend or family member. I especially love the picture of my brother (first picture of this post) because it shows the pride that he feels at the moment ... and that we all felt to some degree along with him! :)

The hot, young babe in blue is my niece, Sarah. And the very gentlemanly (is that a word?) guy with her is Stephen (or maybe Steven?), her long time boyfriend. The other graduate with Spencer and BJ is Spencer's lovely and smart fiance, Sara.

The group shot includes my sister-in-law (proud momma), Janet, and my brother, Hank. My sister, Laura, is standing next to me. Sarah (hot babe in blue), my niece, is hugging BJ. Forever the gentleman, Stephen is taking the photos for us!

BJ told me today that Sara was now a nurse and Spencer was a doctor. I kept explaining to him that Sara got the same degree as Spencer and that she was just as much a doctor as Spencer ... and, of course, he kept arguing with me. Finally, he explained to me that he thought that a nurse was the female word for doctor. Every day is a learning experience with a house full of young kids!
