Yes ... we take a list with us when we go shopping. Yes ... the rule is to only buy what's on the list. No ... we don't typically follow the rules ... especially shopping rules! :)
We were on a shopping trip Saturday night and had "Toys R Us" and a b-day gift on the list. We stopped in to the toy store, found the perfect gift and found another "little" item that wasn't exactly on the list ... a new shiny Thomas-The-Train bike for Jackson! No, we don't have the money for it ... yes, we bought it anyway.
Jackson KNEW ... It was HIS from the moment he saw it and rode it all over the store. I am not kidding about the riding ... he was all-out hauling it through the store ... criss-crossing through the Lego section, the baby crib section and the Nerf aisle. We didn't buy it that night ... but came back the next day for it. Jackson's FIRST words the next morning ... can we go get my bike now?
Once home, Jackson was so proud of his new bike ... claiming his old one (a cute, red hand-me-down from BJ and Hank) was all rusted (true) ... and this new bike was SO much faster and better. Within a day, he told Bain he was ready to take off the extra wheels and ride on two. So, off came the wheels and he peddled off ... no help needed! :)
Here's a picture of him posing when he first got the bike (training wheels still attached) and a video of him sailing down the driveway without the training wheels.

Good riding!
I am SO jealous of some of my blogger friends posting about riding bikes, going to the park, eating dinner outside - life here is all about cold, cold, cold and snow, snow and more snow. Send some warm weather up here, would you please??? :-)
Have a great day!
