Chocolate, Chocolate and More Chocolate!

Sunday morning, we packed up from Lancaster (Amish country) and headed to Hershey (Chocolate country). We went on the Chocolate World tour with our JC group and then said good-bye to everyone. :(
We went back to our car and drove around on a hunt to find our hotel. Ends up, we had driven right by it - but totally missed seeing it because it looks like just a restaurant from the road that we were on. Anyway, we finally got checked in and then drove over to a local restaurant for lunch. Next, we unpacked a little and headed for the pool and mini-golf course located on the hotel property.
The Hershey Lodge is fun ... They give you a stack of Hershey bars at check in (and another stack at check out). The hallways of rooms are named after candy ... We stayed on Peppermint Patty Hall ... appropriate for me since I absolutely love York Peppermint Patties. Lots of things (like light globes) were shaped like Hershey's Kisses. The pillow cases, bedspread and wallpaper all had Kisses in their motifs. The beds are SO comfortable! Down pillows and down bedspreads ... now, if we just could have gotten the kids to sleep through the night, we could have enjoyed it. I actually ended up sleeping in a chair one night because the kids were wiggling and fighting over the beds so much. We all visited the gift shop and bought t-shirts with our favorite candy on the front and I bought a Hershey Kiss necklace.

We watched the latest Harry Potter movie in the room and then went for a late dinner ... around 9 PM. It was a long day - I'm expecting the kids to really sleep a lot now that they're home to make up for all the late nights and early mornings during our trip.
