Hank was nominated for a "Gold Medal" at school ... the award given each week to students who display classroom achievement or consistent good character qualities. This recognition made an impression on him ... so much that he spent the next few days playing "principal." He set up a desk using our piano bench and a beach chair ... One by one, he would call us into "the principal's office" and we would get our "Gold Medal" and a hand shake of congratulations! :) He was nominated for his effort at speech and phonics. His kindergarten teacher is very proud of him and how he never gets discouraged. He has to work so hard at speech but his attitude is always upbeat.
