What's Bain Up To?

In case you're wondering ... Bain is working right now on building some condos in the "downtown" area of our community.

Our county is south of Nashville ... the "yuppy" area of middle TN. In the county, is a little town square that used to be very "small town-ish" but has also been "yuppy-fied" over the past few years. It now is home to a Starbucks and a Ben & Jerry's among many other trendy spots. :)

The upscale condos that Bain is building are $1-2 million (or so) in price ... three stories. The garages are in the back alley. The first floor of the units are the garages and, in the front, "sitting rooms" and offices. As people walk by on the sidewalks, they should see into the first floor windows and see these "less private" areas of the home. On the second floor are the kitchens and dens and the top floors are the bedrooms.

Everything is custom ... large stainless kitchens, all kinds of custom cabinetry, dark hardwood flooring, earthy light brown trim colors, oversized doors, locations designated for large plasma TVs, wood burning pizza ovens, etc. The kind of place that Bain & I won't be living for a long time. The dark hardwood floors wouldn't look too nice after our kids drove their plastic cars around on them for a day or two! :)
