Birthday Cake Repeat

Now that my blog is over a year old, you can look back and notice that Jackson's birthday cake is exactly like last year's cake ... Why mess with a good thing, right?

I thought that he'd pick a "Cars" cake this year because Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater have definitely replaced Thomas the Tank as his favorite cartoon (thank goodness! ... Thomas is a sweet cartoon ... but so boring!)

When we got to Publix to pick out the "Cars" cake, he fell in love again with the Thomas cake with the wind up train on top. So, here we are with the same cake!

I have a problem with Jackson's birthday because it is in the summer. Since he's not in school and everyone is out of town, there are never many kids to invite to his party. So ... my idea for this year is to have his 1/2 year party with all his school friends. This will be in February and I think we'll have it at Pump it Up. This may be a crazy idea ... but otherwise, he'll never have a decent "invite-all-your-school-friends birthday party."

His "family party" at the beginning of August was fun, though. He got many, many gifts from Richard and one of them was a Tow Mater costume (yeah! He's set for Halloween!) and from mom & dad, he got two Webkinz. These were our first adopted Wedkinz and the kids are still having fun playing on that website. The leopard and frog are named ... of course ... Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater! We are very original in our household with pet names! :)
