Where is Zoe now?

Here are some pictures of Zoe's orphanage and the people who work there. (The babies in the pictures are NOT Zoe.) The front entrance is gated. The crib room looks typical of many in China. The babies are all around each other - sometimes with 30 or 40 babies in a large room with "wall to wall" cribs. The photo of the building with what looks like a yellow plastic roof covering is a photo of the laundry for the orphanage hanging out to dry on top of the orphanage building.

Families who have visited this orphanage feel that the babies are receiving lots of attention and loving care. The director (the woman shown here wearing brown and holding a baby in pink pajamas) impresses the parents that meet her because of her caring spirit for the children. One family reported that they were told that 40 babies were in the orphanage at that time and that there were 30 caregivers to take care of them. That's a pretty good percentage.

This orphanage is smaller than the main orphanage in the city where it is located and it has just opened to international adoption in December 2005 so there is not a lot of information available on it yet.
