Jackson is turning three on Saturday and the entire bunch of us (B.J., Hank, Jackson and, of course, lucky me!) went to his yearly checkup together this week. I spent most of the time saying "SSSHHHH!" and trying to keep the noise level down to a small roar while we waited (and waited and waited and waited) for the doctor to see us.Jackson is in the 30th percentile for weight and the 40th for height. The doctor was a little concerned until I told her that was normal for him. He had been averaging in the 20th percentile for height and weight.
It was the first checkup for Jackson at our new peditrician, Dr. Hines. Dr. Hines' daughter, Bel, went to school with Hank at Sunset pre-K so we've switched to her for the boys' doctor. Jackson had an eye exam and passed. Hank took one, too, since he didn't want to be left out of the "eye game." He passed, too.
I'm going to be writing here about our family but mostly about our upcoming adoption of a little baby from China. We are expecting to receive Zoe's picture and medical information at the end of August and, hopefully, travel to get her in October. It's a very exciting time but also a little stressful as we start to think through all the details. We completed our paperwork over a year ago and it is hard to believe that we are finally so close to seeing her face and bringing her home.
Please remember our family when you pray over the next couple of months. Please pray that we will continually feel God's presence and His hand in this process. Pray for Zoe in China and that she is well cared for and feels loved by her caregivers. Pray for the boys as they will be in the USA for two weeks without us. And, that I will not worry too much about being away from them for so long!! This will be harder on me than on them, I'm sure!! :)
