Happy New Year's Day!!

We watched the ball drop and the kids waited for the big moment with their noise makers in their mouths and their noise poppers in their hands.  Right after the big noisy moment, Zoe started crying ... too, too loud!  Everyone tasted a little champagne and then switched to their own personal favorite beverages ... root beer, sparkling apple juice, diet Coke! 

We also went to a party in our neighborhood - hosted by a church family.  It was fun, too.  The families all had kids ... older than ours ... and we played games, socialized and ate until around 10 PM.  

It's 9 AM and everyone's up ... time to make some pancakes and then get started on the pot of black-eyed peas ... the southern traditional meal for New Year's Day!
