Run Forrest (aka Hank) Run

Last night was the Kids' Music City Marathon and Hank went to finish his last mile there with the group (that turned out to be a very, very large group) of other kids from all around Nashville.  It was crazy ... so many kids and families everywhere.

I had Zoe, Jackson and Hank by myself ... and I was more than a little nervous to let Hank loose at the course's start line at the Titan stadium's front gate - and then, hopefully, to meet him around the other side of the Titan stadium at the finish line.

All went fine ... Hank ran with BJ's friends and they kept an eye on him.  But, he did get separated for a while and he said it was really fun to run by himself in the big group of kids.

One of his favorite teachers - Mr. Taylor - was at the race and several of his friends played before the race ... climbing a tree and wrestling.  (The girls from school all stood around nicely with their parents.)

Just before we left for home, Jackson & Hank decided it would be fun to try out a port-a-potty ... there was such a long row of them and no one was using them.  So, in went Jackson.  When he finally came out, a string of toilet paper followed him.  :)  It took several trips back into the port-a-potty to free the string from his shoe!

All in all, it was a really fun event ... Hank was really proud of himself for the accomplishment and he received a nice medal.
